Oh my hat!
Oh My Hat! I need to wear a hat! I have had a major hair diaster. I had an audition and for some reason I thought my hair wasn't looking nice enough and I could make it better!
Now I must add that my onchologist said to wait about three months before colouring my hair after the chemo or it might fall out again or come out a funny colour. I checked my diary and we are now in month four, but nonetheless my hair came out bright purple instead of a lovely rich brown.
So of course I run off to the hairdresser to strip it, in which case; (why did I expect anytyhing else) It turned orange. Then I was left with the desicion, what shall I do to remedy it? Go blonde or try get back to a light brown, which is my natural hair colour. So in light of my docotor's advice I choose the light brown to avoid any further damage. Now I have purply-orangey-browny- hair, which is definitely not going to set eny new trends, especially since it takes three chemical processes to get it this "special"colour...
I must say I am seriously considering going for that fourth chemical process and turning it blonde. Especially since my husband informed last night he thinks I look like a lesbian.
What have I learnt from this experience? Our lives are like that sometimes, you make a bad desicion and then it just snowballs and gets out of control.
You can't press rewind. No matter how much you want to or how many movies they make about time travel. It's not going to happen. The choices we make are the choices we have to live with everyday for the rest of our lives. Thank the Lord not so many of them are life changing. We have to be in a habit of continually making good choices. Choices in our relationships, choices not
to commit sin, choices in how treat peolple. Have you ever lost you temper with someone and then regretted it the moment you walked away? Because now matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry" you can never take back what you said. Some of our bad choices hurt other people and some hurt ourselves. Like getting a tattoo or sleeping around. Everything has repercussions. Sometimes we do the wrong thing despite knowing what is right. We all struggle with sin sometimes. Like Paul said in Romans 7:15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do...verse18 For I have the desire to do what is good , but I do not carry it out.
But here is the good news: litteraly. In Christ Jesus we have a rewind button! Romans 8:1 says: Therefore, there is now no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death!
Sin puts us in bodage, but the free gift of Salvation through the death of Jesus sets us free! Jesus died for our sins. He took the blame for everything. Don't ever think that you are too far away from God to be saved. He specialises in do overs. With Him hiar colour is never permanent. There isn't a stain He can't wash away.
Our sin is forgiven if we take His free gift. No more condemnation. All we have to do is pray: Jesus, I believe you died for my sins. Come into my heart. I believe you are my Lord and Savior. From this day I am a new creature in Christ.

The first mother ever
Please read the following in jest:
I am absolutely exhausted today. At 2 o'clock this morning, my dear litlle baby decided she had had enough sleep and proceeded to wake up every hour on the hour. After I had put back her dummy like four times, I think I must have lied down on the couch in her room and that is exactlly where I woke up this morning.
This whole having a baby thing has made me think of Eve, who had the very first baby ever: Cain. With all the resources we have available today, all these books that teach us about every little thing about babies: colic, bathing them , how long they can stay awake, when to put them on solids, what games to play to develop their eye sight etc, etc. We have all the quipment in the world: we have canvass cots, prams, bottles, formula milk...and we have our mothers and grandmothers who raised their own children, passing down their knowledge. We have atempted to make raising babies as effortless as possible and I still sometimes feel like I don't know what I am doing.
Can you imagine what it must have been like for Eve? Who's never even seen baby? She didn't have any books to read, or grandmothers to ask for advice. I wonder if God gave her a quick seminar. She must have been was quite the lady. In Genesis 4:1 it says she said: "With the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man"
...And that is all she said. If I were the first woman ever it would have said: "Oh Lord help me, I have brought forth this baby. Why is it crying so much? When I am I ever going to sleep again?"
When I asked my husband what he thought about eve's motherhood, he said: "Well, Cain ended up killing Abel, so Eve must have batteled a little bit to be the fisrt mother ever." If she were to write a childcare book, it must have been called: "How to keep your kids from killing each other!"
Whatever the case may be, Eve was the mother of all human kind: I take my hat off to you Eve!
